About Coach

I grew up in Bossier City, LA playing every sport imaginable. From organized softball, basketball, and soccer, to backyard football with my brother, I played it all. I went to college on a Division 1 softball scholarship. From there, I went on to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from LSU New Orleans. It was in New Orleans in 2013 that my love for CrossFit began. Crossfit provides the love that I have for athletics, competition, and community, which is why I have stuck with it for so long. My background as an athlete and Physical Therapist, and my love of sport has helped me become the coach I am today.

Turning Point

When I was a sophomore in high school, I was forced to choose between softball and basketball. For years, I doubted my decision to give up basketball, but it turned out to be the best decision for my life and my future career. Looking back, that decision shaped the rest of my life and started me on the track to where I am today. Throughout my life, there have been several serendipitous moments that, at the time, just seemed like moments. In hindsight, those moments were significant turning points in my life that shaped me into the person I am today. Choosing softball, earning a D1 scholarship, being accepted into PT school, moving to Austin, coaching my first CrossFit boot camp…all of these things have had a significant impact on my life and have taught me to appreciate the small moments, trust your gut, and do what you love. I am a firm believer that everything will always work out like it should. You just have to trust the process. I find this to be true in life and in CrossFit.

Motivation & Passion

For me, coaching is about teaching, but also about learning. When I coach, I like to have fun and make sure my athletes feel welcome and inspired. I want everyone to leave with a smile on their face, feeling a little more knowledgeable and healthier than when they arrived. I love coaching because it gives me the opportunity to teach the why and the how. My goal is for my athletes to understand why we are doing the workout/movement and how we are able to perform safely and efficiently. I love seeing my athletes succeed and make progress towards their fitness goals. My favorite part about coaching is seeing the “aha” moments, when things finally click and an athlete says “thank you, that makes sense and helps so much.” I enjoy coaching athletes of all skill levels. All athletes are different and that means, as a coach, I have to learn the best way to reach each individual athlete. I also enjoy learning from our other coaches and advancing my own skills so that I can be the best coach for our athletes.
